Protection In The Night

” I remembered you, God,”

One night when I was about to sleep, I had late mid night thoughts and grabbed my journal. I decided to read one of my favourite chapter from the good book and this time round it hit different.

Have you had an experience before that made you think that probably you are married to God but then you are sleeping in a different bedroom?

As I was reading Psalm 77 , David’s experience in the good book amazed me. This is a man who was praying to God , he was in distress and he sought the Lord at night but he could not be comforted. This one thing caught my attention, he says ” I remembered you, God “. This one word remember! David remembers God and meditates , he thinks of the years of long ago and even remembers his songs in the night.

Psalm 77:6-11
I remembered my songs in the night. my heart meditated and my spirit asked:
Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show His favor again? Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time? Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?"
Then I thought, "To this will I appeal:
The years when the Most high stretched out his right hand. I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.
David remembered songs in the night. From his experience a song in the night is a song of depth and meaning. Music is a powerful weapon against discouragement. A song can be your protection in the night, that time when you feel weak like David , the time of pitfalls, transitions , tears and pain. When you feel weak , discouraged , when it seems you cannot trace God because of unanswered prayers; just pause and remember, remember why you started praying! You started praying because you believe and He answered before and will still answer you😊. Just like David, remember God’s miracles and good deeds that He did for you long ago. When you remember you will have a song of real genuine experience of His past leading, a song that is not borrowed, a unique song. Behind a frowning Providence there’s a smile hiding seeking to revive and transform. Allow God to write you a song.
Psalm 42:8 By day the Lord directs his love, at night his song is with me – a prayer to the God of my life.

A song in the night should be a song of progress, that weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning. As we are in the night let us not fear but watch for the breaking of the day.

I pray that God’s grace will enable you to see Him in the midst of your busy daily existence. May you be convinced of God’s faithfulness ✨✨✨You shall have a song!

The Psalm ends by saying he led his people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron, and so he will lead you😊. Happy new week🌺🌺🌺

LOVE IN BLOOM

Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to go through this world without nature, the skies , flowers and beautiful spaces to admire like the dancing waters. Would people still consider travelling around the world if nature was nowhere?

I love nature and I appreciate and enjoy the small things in life like watching the sunset, looking at flowers or just watching a leaf fall. When people talk about ‘flowers’ they imply a bit of surprise , but again it’s different for everyone. What’s your view on flowers?
Luke 12:28 If God gives such attention to the wildflowers, most of them never ever seen , don’t you think He will attend to you, take pride in you, do His best for you?

I read this Bible verse and it reminded me of how much God cares. He cares for the flowers and they flourish, even wild flowers.

I enjoy my own space and this has had me pick up the love of flowers , taking pictures of flowers and the skyπŸ˜…, I love to wander around examining how God expresses His creativity in the plant world and nature.

To see how God’s glory is on tour in the skies, God – craft on exhibit across the horizon. Our heavenly Father is such an artist!
As I see how He intricately designed the different flowers, caring for their smallest details, I marvel. And I remember that I mean more to Him than all His botanical beauties.
Nature has taught me many things. My friend Jyline posted something about the rose flower that reminded me its May, yes the mental health awareness month. Jyline loves flowers too😊 and if she had a choice she could live in the forest πŸ˜‚. She posted how flowers just like humans have stories. And this one story about the rose flower stuck on my mind. I remembered how we’d go to sing in the forest with my sister Winne, the peace nature offers, the calmness, it’s therapeutic. How I’d joke saying if I were plant I’d choose to grow like a pumpkin. I miss those days we’d sing together not just sing but sing together in the forest.
Jylines post, oh the rose flower…
Mental health is less dramatic than physical pain but its more common and also hard to bear. The frequent attempt to conceal mental pain increases the burden. It’s usually easier to say “my tooth is aching” than to say “my heart is broken.” And one of the reason to why most people find it hard to talk about their mental health, is the fear of stigmatization. But again there are people who are willing to listen and help, so talk to someone you really trust. Don’t suffer in silence. Develop a support system; those few friends you can talk to about both good and bad things . Talk to someone it helps, don’t suffer in silence.
I hope and pray that you will learn from the rose flower story, that it will help you to say what you truly feel. Not just on valentine’s Day , but every single day. Talk to someone it helps. Don’t suffer in silence.

Where flowers bloom so does hope~ Lady Bird Johnson.

The flower doesn’t dream of the bee, it blossoms and the bee comes.

The surgeon cuts to heal but the butcher cuts to kill. They both cut, both hurt. Be a real friend , a friend who cuts to heal; be that support system that someone can trust and talk to, kindness is free, be kind. Be that safe person and make people believe the world is still a beautiful place to live in, make them feel like the sunflower.

The sunflower ✨✨✨ With irresistible charm , they stand tall , unabashedly seeking the source of their sustenance. Sunflowers show us the beauty of staying connected with all that nourishes and sustains us. Will you make someone be a sunflower that they’ll believe in staying connected to a support system and refuse to suffer in silence? Can you be trusted?
This month of May, each time you see a pretty flower, may it be a reminder to you of how much your heavenly Father cares and loves you more than all flourishing beautiful flowers ❀️

My Prayer For You

For anyone who has prayed a thousand years

And still can’t find the answer anywhere

Fighting off the lie that no one cares

For anyone who’s out there losing hope

Feeling you’re forsaken and alone

Clinging to the last strands of your rope

May God give you eyes to see, He’s still greater

Courage to rise and believe He’s able

May God be your peace in the fire you’re walking through

This is my prayer now

This is my prayer for you.

For all those with tired and weary souls

But still have faith to ask for miracles

Choosing to believe He’s in control

May God give you eyes to see, He’s still greater Courage to rise and believe He’s able May God be your peace in the fire you’re walking through This is my prayer now This is my prayer.

It’s hope that anchors the soul, and we have an anchor that keeps the soul , our anchor is Christ Jesus who’s yoke is easy and His burden is light.
With love β™₯οΈπŸ’–β™₯️ you’ll conquer

Endings

The year 2020 just ended and I am feeling thankful. Endings precede new beginnings and I’m excited it’s now 2021.

We can spend our whole lives looking back or looking forward and forgetting to live in the experience right now . Don’t make this mistake and realise it too late, this was my 2020 highlight. The only life we have is the now .

Appreciate the small joys , live in the now and move forward with a little hope, taking each minute as it comes .

To everyone I’ve met in 2020 , and everyone that made 2020 worth the while, thank you . Let’s journey on making new memories and embracing hope as we confidently take little steps into 2021.

My prayer for each one of you is that you will be compelled by a blessed hope in this new year all through the days , weeks and months.

It’s hope that anchors the soul

And don’t forget to tarry at a promise until God finds you there . Look up and look a little higher.

Blessings

Happy happy 2021

Thank you

When we give cheerfully and accept gratefully, everyone is blessed.

Every day along streets, restaurants , homes and even fields there’s always cake. Birthday parties processions are a fun part of life that people cherish dearly. I remember one experience about birthday parties, I was in primary and got an invite to a friend’s birthday. At the same time, I was to clean dishes at home. I chose to attend the party saying to myself I’d be home early before mum returns and definitely clean the dishes. The aftermath was nowhere near my expectations, I came back late, found the dishes clean, mum at home. Suppose you understand mum’s you can relate the weird situation I was inπŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

The experience has remained etched in my memory. I’m really excited this month like never before, I have never looked forward to my birthday like this month and I can’t tell why, I’m just so excited. It’s two days to my birthday. I have been thinking about it and amidst my thoughts, my main highlight is gratitude. I’m grateful for life , friends, every experience I have had this far.

I truly pray that you will join me this month to embrace the theme of gratitude in everything.

Gratitude changes everything. Value those who helped you.

I have been having quiet times recently. Time to reflect on the people that helped out on the road I call life. We all have been through some very tough situations. Unless you’re extremely lucky. We should all know those times when you needed help. Whether, it was early on in life, later or somewhere in the middle. There were times when I didn’t see myself achieving my dreams. I had no idea what I was going to do with my life. Goals seemed like unrealistic dreams. I was very fortunate to have met some amazing people that helped me when I was down. I value them dearly, even if we don’t talk often. They will always hold a warm place in my memories. Those people saw me for me. A human who wanted to do something positive in life. They gave me a helping hand when I was hopeless, some literally wiped my tears when grief knocked on my door. Some became my mentors, teaching me skills that I would use for a lifetime, I can’t forget how mentorship has shaped me. In a confused world, God has his plans for each one of us, He has his people and He moves in mysterious ways and it’s marvelous when God brings people into our lives to be a means through He, the man of Calvary reveals his grace to us. It is beautiful! Kindness still exists. The act of giving hope to humanity is still there.

So when you feel you’re walking alone, when you’re faced with life’s decision and not sure which way to go, stand still and let God move. The Father has a plan though it’s hard to see it when in hard moments of life. Standing still is hard to do, when you feel you’ve reached the end, but you can rest assured and be secured that God is moving and he will make a way . As I look back even as my birthday approaches, I’m feeling grateful and I’m thankful to everyone I have met, it’s not by chance. I have learnt, experienced growth and gratitude.

The good book says;

Thessalonians 5:18 be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus.

It is God’s will to us to express gratitude in our lives.

Appreciate the friends, family, situations because in every circumstance is a hidden lesson that could be a blessing in disguise. God speaks to us through his providential workings and through the influence of His spirit upon our hearts. In our circumstances and sorroundings ,in the changes daily taking place around us, we may find precious lessons if our hearts are but open to discern them.

My greatest lesson looking back, is not to live in tomorrow. God is the best teacher in His pacing. He has taught me to take life one day at a time, He has given me the sure assurance that each day has sufficient grace to carry me through.

His grace covers us😊😊😊, so dwell in his promises and be thankful in every situation and you’ll experience his marvelous works.

Just remember that no duty is urgent than that of returning thanks 😊. To everyone, thank you β™₯️

On my Knees

Some days are tough. Some days you realize you shouldn’t have got out of bed. Some days will bring you to your knees. And trust me when you’re on your knees things can’t be the same again because God hears prayers.

Mark 11:24

For this reason I tell you: when you pray and ask for something , believe that you have received it , and you will be given whatever you ask for.

In life things happen at lightning speed and sometimes it can be hard to stay on course in the spiritual journey. The main challenge of life is that events happen to us without notice; a brick wall comes, you’re not expecting it, you hit it very hard and your heart feels like it’s been run over by a bus. Doubts creep in. The cold hand of fear taps you on the shoulder. Your heart suddenly puts up all it’s defenses. Praying becomes difficult, when pain overwhelms the heart and everything seems not to make sense.

There’s a song that says life is easy when you’re up on the mountain, that talk comes so easy when life is at its best but things change when you are down in the valley. God on the mountain is still God in the valley.

I believe that tears are a language that God understands. If you ever feel overwhelmed, cry yes cry to God He understands and it matters to Him. If you have friends, family always remember to pray for them, sometimes we can be overwhelmed to the point we can’t be on our knees. Pray with someone today, mention their names, it doesn’t matter whether they know you are praying with them or not , just pray with that one friend. God has put people in our family and friendship circles and it’s wonderful, makes life grand right? Be that kind friend, that kind neighbor, that kind sister, that kind brother, pray with someone. You’ll be surprised. There are blessings when we pray with others.

I’m grateful for the gift of friends. Sometimes when I’m going through tough days and feel peace in my heart, I always think to myself that someone is praying / prayed for me . Have you ever been in a tough situation then you get a timely word from a friend? Yaani Ni Kama mtu alikuwa anajua kinachofanyika na hata hukumwambia. That’s when I say God works in mysterious ways , through divine appointments; when you don’t see it coming through. Never stop praying and most importantly praying for your friends even strangers, there’s a gift that heaven bestows when you’re on your knees for someone else sharing their woes, bearing their burdens, letting your tears flow for another person in prayer. When you agree that you are blest to be a blessing by bowing your knees for someone else, the heavens acknowledge it.

There’s this song I love titled; Bow the knee

There are moments on a journey following the Lord where God illumines every step we take There are times when circumstances make perfect sense to us , As we try to understand each move He makes When the path grows dim And our questions have no answers, turn to Him

Bow the knee; trust the heart of your father when the answer goes beyond what you can see Bow the knee; lift your eyes toward heaven and believe the one who holds eternity And when you don’t understand the purpose of His plan in the presence of the King Bow the knee

There are days when clouds surround us And the rain begins to fall, The cold and lonely winds won’t cease to blow And there seems to be no reason for the suffering we feel We are tempted to believe God does not know When storms arise , Don’t forget we live by faith and not by sight.

No matter what happens in your voyage of life, just believe someone is praying for you. Being on our knees reminds us that we are not the architect of our lives, Christ is our architect to keep building is through it all.

Amongst the Ruins

It’s the hardest thing to come face to face with the ruins of your life. It can be easier to just stow them away in an attic and close the door. But this doesn’t deal with them. This doesn’t shine a light on the devastation. It does not allow you to dust them off, hold them with love and let them go. That has been my experience for a long time but when the time comes for you to be ready to move on from your past; the only way is to first accept what happened. Amidst my ruins I grabbed a book I heard my friend mention during our conversation and everything I read made sense to me , especially about the mind.
Robin S. Sharma unveils how our inner well being matters and most importantly you matter!

If you care for your mind , if you nurture it and cultivate it just like a fertile rich garden, it will blossom far beyond your expectations. But if you let the weeds take root, lasting peace of mind and deep inner harmony will always elude you. We are all here for some special reason, stop being a prisoner of your past.

Robin’s view about our minds made me picture a home, house , room . We don’t live in bungalows, duplexes or flats, we live in our minds. Yes, that is our permanent residence. And there are no constraints of square feet there. It’s a vast space with unlimited area. And you know what! No matter how organized your rooms, balconies, garages and verandas are, life is good only when things are sorted there – in your mind. And that’s where we keep things messy; regrets piling up in one corner, expectations stuffed in a closet, secrets under the carpet, worries littered everywhere, comparisons split on the table, complexes leaking from an old bottle and grudges stinking in a box. Be aware . For this ‘real home’ of yours you can’t outsource housekeeping. You got to do it yourself!
I’m reminded of the words of the good book in Philippians 4:8

Finally brothers and sisters, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true , noble , right, pure, lovely and honourable.

The mind is like a garden, if you nurture and cultivate it just like a fertile , rich garden, it will blossom.
Robin also highlights the beauty of giving and serving others but he reminds us that we matter and we should first invest in ourselves by having that meeting with self, that healthy eating among others.

How can you care for others if you cannot even care for yourself? How can you do good if you don’t even feel good? I can’t love you if I cannot love myself.

And how can any more go in until you first empty your cup?

Investing in yourself is the best investment you will ever make. It will not only improve your life , it will improve the lives of all those around you.

It’s only when you have mastered the art of loving yourself that you can truly love others. It’s only when you have opened your own heart that you can touch the heart of others.

Stand guard at the gate of your garden and let the very best information enter . You truly cannot afford the luxury of a negative thought- not even one.
Good people strengthen themselves ceaselessly. See setbacks as opportunities for personal expansion and spiritual growth.
Think about things that are lovely, true, honourable, pure, worthy of praise yet guard the gate of your mind make it a fertile rich garden. You are unique in your own way, blossom ✨✨✨

Gold for my girlfriends

Live in the moment 😊. Enjoy the presence of family and friends, be thankful.

A diplomat is a man who always remembers a woman’s birthday but never remembers her age.

On a beautiful day like this I choose to share this gold I found so as we journey on just breathe yes breathe.

Life should not be measured by the number of breaths we take but by the number of moments that take our breath away. Once you start living by this standard, you will find yourself really living regardless of the date on your birth certificate. So forget about spending time trying to mask your age with glitter and glamour or pushing yourself to achieve more fame and fortune . These things are just temporary. Instead focus on creating breath taking moments that can never be taken away from you, never lost and never devalued. If you do that , then every age can be “golden”.

And Still She Laughs

There’s a precious value in sharing and hearing the stories of our lives, an extraordinary importance in laying bare of the soul. Such is Kate Merricks story in And Still She Laughs.
Isn’t nature beautiful? Hey guys😊😊😊, how was your weekend? Mine was really productive, equal parts of fun and workπŸ˜…. What’s your experience with nature, flowers , animals , rivers, rainπŸ˜… and many more.
Lovely πŸ˜€, right?

Taking some time in nature can be interesting and it can get us thinking about life as we appreciate nature’s beauty. I hope you’ll find it worth your while as you read on. Nature has lessons for us to learn. Kate’s story unfolds with nature ; “There a bird nest just outside my house filled with a family of chicks. I love to watch what’s going on in the life of my bird family. Little bald babies make little peep peep noises. The mama bird works tirelessly , flitting back and forth, always taking care of her puny chicks who are smashed together in their gross nest caked with droppings. She’s amazing. As she’s giving her little ones what they need, day by day the chicks grow less helpless, less scrawny, less ugly. They are slowly becoming strong and beautiful.”
Sometimes in life , we feel like one of those baby birds. All scrawny and weak and pathetic, unable to get our own nourishment, mouth wide open, crying for something, anything. There we are sometimes, sitting in shambles, poop everywhere, unable to fly , crying out for something to get us through- to move us beyond a state of helplessness.
Where do you turn when your worst nightmare comes true? How do you hold onto faith? When we are faced with grief and we feel empty and helpless, grief can be so lonely as reality chips in. It can feel like fear, perhaps more strictly like suspense or like waiting just hanging about waiting for something to happen.
There’s hope in the journey. Jesus can be to us like that mama bird : taking care of us , feeding us tirelessly while we are scared and stuck. Day by day helping us to grow shiny feathers until we become nourished by truth and ready to fly.
Everyone has a story. Some stories beam bright and pretty but secretly hide darkness that is yet to be revealed. Stories teach , whether the outcome is comedy or tragedy. We learn from others experiences. Grief is like a bathing suit. It fits every person differently. Some hang out a bit here, some shouldn’t leave the house with it showing and others make it look fabulous. Real life can prove strange, death is a reality, no one is exempt. Personally I’ve been there, i first experienced grief from a front row seat in 2018. March 3rd was that day when I wondered if I’ll ever find laughter again after i lost my dad in an accident. The aftermath came with packages of deep pain, doubt, questions and a feeling of emptiness. Healing is a process . It takes willingness to be healed, to pinch ourselves nice and hard to accept reality and allow God to walk us through it all. It takes courage to let go through the tears and total surrender to see things not from our own human point of view but from God’s and let Jesus lead and call us out of it all. What shall we do when faced with grief? My prayer is that we’ll choose to look up, to open our mouths and allow God our All Sufficient One to feed our souls.
Looking to the Source of life ,light, we shall rejoice with laughing and mourn with weeping. We shall give from our emptiness; and receive the offer of abudance. And we shall keep right on going , moving ahead in life, taking steps of faith and keeping our eyes on the One who is invisible who has, in his generosity and continuous provision like that mama bird taught me to laugh without fear of the future and He still will teach you to cling to deeper truths like love , faith and eternity.
Have you lost a loved one? Is pain overwhelming your soul? There hope in God’s word, allow Him to teach you and heal you through it all. I cling to His sure word in Isaiah 25:8 that one day death will die, yes it will be swallowed up forever. I pray that He will lead you to a realization of deeper faith, that this life with it’s troubles will one day come to an end. In Him we will find beauty in the midst of ashes.
Hey, hey!! Glad you made it to the end. Thank you for your time. Don’t forget to share your thoughts and experiences.

Daily Private Victory

Hello there😊, i hope you are keeping safe during this trying time with a world wide pandemic. Today i am sharing some passage i love in this book. Come with me while i share this gift i got from Stephen R. Covey while we learn useful ways to organize our personal lives. Life can be tough. It can test us , it can stretch us even push us to our breaking points and beyond. Its easy to become imbalanced, stressed out and even feel empty inside and if we dont take time everyday for renewal , we simply wont have the strength, capacity or the energy to deal with life challenges. Trying to live without renewing ourselves each day is like trying to cut a piece of wood with a dull saw. To gain the power each day you must make time to sharpen the saw! It means regularly renewing our strength in the four key dimensions of life; Body, mind, heart , spirit.
Body; represents our physical energy and our capacity to do things. Achieved by regular exercise, good nutrition, proper rest and finding time to relax.
Mind; represents our mental sharpness, our ability to think and make good decisions. Renewed through continous learning, reading, writing as well as planning and organizing so that our minds are not flooded, we get very clear drafts of what needs to get done.
Heart ; represents the quality of our relationships. We can sharpen this area by taking quality time for people, by taking time to build and to strengthen and sometimes to repair most important relationships. By making daily deposits into the emotional bank accounts of other people, apologizing, saying sorry.
Spirit represents that inner self that exist far beneath the surface of your everyday self. Represent your centre, your deepest convictions and values , souls purpose and meaning. Renewed by spending time in nature, listening to inspiring music, thinking deeply on a mission and religious worship or meaningful service like visiting a children’s home, volunteering.
